The Hermit Mine is in the Arizona Strip (the area of Arizona north of the Colorado River), approximately 23 miles southwest of Fredonia and 7 miles west of Kanab Creek, in Mohave County. It was mined in 19891 and produced approximately 36,339 tons of ore which yielded 550,000 pounds of uranium oxide2. Milling was not done on site; all ore was shipped to a mill near Blanding, Utah3. The mine closed in 1989 and was reclaimed.
There are currently no active USGS studies at the site.
