Partners

Knowing if a stream will have year-round flow is important for management decisions including conservation planning, resource management, wildlife grazing, and wildland fire management. Because water availability aids in these management decisions, there has been great interest in streamflow permanence from multiple Federal partners including the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and U.S. Forest Service. These and other federal, state and local agencies, institutions, and tribal nations have invested their time and financial resources to advance this work. With help from USGS Core Science Systems, Ecosystems, and Water Resources Mission Areas, many of the products from this work that originated in the Pacific Northwest are now being applied outside of that region, and the footprint of this work is expanding every year with partner support.
