The Challenge

Knowing what is happening in streams and lakes near you and how quickly conditions are changing around you during flood events is critical. Easy access to current conditions in streams is critical to raising water awareness during floods and normal conditions. The Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center needed an application that could be used on mobile devices during storms that would show gages around users and real-time data.

Our Solution

IHDS developers built a mobile-friendly application including

• Highlighting current streamflow conditions around the location of the mobile device
• Showing how quickly conditions are changing with easy to scan icons
• Visualizing current water levels
