Thermal Release Request

On behalf of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, we request an enhanced release from Cannonsville Reservoir for the purpose of thermal mitigation in the mainstem Delaware River in accordance with the 2017 Flexible Flow Management Program.

The forecast for today and tomorrow is warm and partly sunny with a chance of precipitation throughout. Tomorrow’s high water temperature at Lordville, NY has the potential to be above 75 OF especially if the observed temperatures are warmer than forecast, if there is no precipitation, or if cloud cover is less than expected.

The ramp-up and ramp-down may be made in one step each. About 2,430 cfs-days remain in the FFMP2017 Thermal Mitigation Bank at the time of this request. No directed release is expected for the Montague Flow Objective.
