Integrated Hydrology + Data Science

Texas Integrated Flooding Framework

The Challenge

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District (USACE), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Oklahoma-Texas Water Science Center, and Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) are leaders within Texas for the monitoring and modeling of hydrologic, hydrodynamic, and meteorological processes as well as flood outreach and flood planning initiatives for the state. Decision-makers at all levels of government need a more accurate understanding of flood hazards and access to the tools for effective mitigation planning. This planning project will develop the guidelines and processes for implementing a comprehensive, science-based integrated flooding framework in Texas. The Texas integrated flooding framework (TIFF) will develop a system to model, forecast, and visualize the risk of flooding along the Texas Coast. To help decision makers and the public understand TIFF, a web site is needed to explain the project.

Our Solution

  • Design an eye-catching logo for TIFF.
  • Develop a single-page web application to explain TIFF to a variety of audiences.
