Office of the Delaware River Master
Thermal Release Request
On behalf of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, we request an enhanced release from Cannonsville Reservoir for the purpose of thermal mitigation in the mainstem Delaware River in accordance with the 2017 Flexible Flow Management Program.
The forecast for today, tonight, and tomorrow is warm and sunny with a chance of precipitation late tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow’s high water temperature at Lordville, NY has the potential to be above 75 OF especially if the observed temperatures are warmer than forecast or baseflow recession is greater than expected. Friday’s forecast has more clouds in the sky and slightly lower temperatures, so the enhanced release is requested for only 12 hours. However, an enhancement for Friday may be requested depending on observed conditions and updated forecasts.
About 2,475 cfs-days remain in the FFMP2017 Thermal Mitigation Bank at the time of this request. No directed release is expected for the Montague Flow Objective.
