Office of the Delaware River Master
Thermal Release Request
Based on this afternoon’s weather conditions and changes in the expected hydrology for tomorrow, please maintain 550 cfs until 4:00 AM July 9th, then reduce to the conservation release of 460 cfs. Thank you.
INITIAL REQUEST:
The Department requests an increase in the thermal enhancement to 650 cfs starting at 4:00 PM July 8th to 4:00 AM July 9th, then a decrease to 500 cfs starting at 4:00 AM until 4:00 PM tomorrow or until tomorrow’s design is complete. The increase should be made in one step and the decrease should be made in two steps.
Tomorrow’s expected high air temperature in Hancock is 90OF with mostly sunny skies. The elevated flows on the East Branch and Beaver Kill from this morning’s rainfall are already receding. Additional runoff from storms this afternoon or this evening is possible.
Thank you for your continued assistance in implementing the thermal protection bank.
