Thermal Release Request
NYSDEC is requesting a release from the 2017 FFMP Thermal Mitigation Bank due to the forecast of sunny and unusually warm conditions. The daily high water temperature at Lordville, NY is projected to exceed 75 degrees with the current conservation releases from Cannonsville and Pepacton Reservoirs. The East Branch and Neversink are also expected to approach or exceed 75 degrees at the current releases.
The estimated quantity to be debited from the bank from this pulse is 120 cfs-days.
There are 2260 cfs-days remaining in the bank before the requested pulse and there will be about 2140 cfs-days remaining after the requested pulse.
The use of the bank for the increases at Pepacton and Neversink is estimated to use an additional 150 cfs-days for the Tue-Fri period.
