Thermal Release Request
NYSDEC is requesting a release from the 2017 FFMP Thermal Mitigation Bank due to the forecast of unusually warm conditions. The daily high water temperature at Lordville, NY is projected to approach or exceed 75 degrees with the current conservation release from Cannonsville Reservoir.
NYSDEC requests an increased release from Cannonsville Reservoir in the form of a 10 hour +300 cfs pulse above the current Table 4G Level L2 release of 500 cfs. The estimated quantity to be debited from the bank from this pulse is 140 cfs-days.
NYSDEC also requests an increase of 20 cfs to be made from Neversink Reservoir raising the release from 115 cfs to 135 cfs from 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2024 to 1:00 PM on Monday, July 8, 2024.
The use of the bank for the increase at Neversink is estimated to use an additional 20 cfs-days.
There are 1715 cfs-days remaining in the bank before the requested increases and there will be about 1555 cfs-days remaining after the requested increases.
