Thermal Release Request
Yesterday, NYSDEC requested a release from the 2017 FFMP Thermal Mitigation Bank due to the forecast of warm and sunny conditions. The daily high water temperature at Lordville, NY was projected to exceed 75 degrees at the current conservation releases from Cannonsville and Pepacton Reservoirs.
NYSDEC requested an increased release from Cannonsville Reservoir in the form of a 12 hour +250 cfs pulse above the Table 4G Level L2 release of 500 cfs. The pulse began at 8:00 PM with one step up at 7:00 PM and concluded at 8:00 AM with one step down at 9:00 AM. The estimated quantity debited from the bank is 138 cfs-days.
There was 2500 cfs-days remaining in the bank before the pulse and there will be about 2362 cfs-days remaining after the requested pulse.
