Thermal Release Request
NYSDEC has requested a 12 hour +200 cfs pulse from Cannonsville and a 6 hour +100 cfs pulse from Pepacton to address potentially high water temperatures tomorrow.
This will use approximately 140 cfs-days from the thermal bank. There are currently about 2155 cfs-days remaining in the bank and there will be about 2015 cfs-days remaining after this pulse.
The USGS gages at Lordville and Callicoon are having issues reporting water quality parameters, including water temperature. The 76.1F (24.5C) reported as a high water temp for yesterday at Lordville is likely an error since it was a single discontinuous value before it stopped transmitting. My estimate is that yesterday’s high water temp at Lordville was not likely to be above 73.8F (23.2C). USGS has been informed of the loss of function and they are working to bring it back online.
